These terms are the agreement between you and Cory the Company Inc. for the use of Cory, our humanoid robot and the platform that runs it. We have written them to be clear and fair. Please read them, because by using Cory you agree to them.

01 Agreement to these terms

By subscribing to, accessing, or using Cory, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are agreeing on behalf of a business, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that business. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

02 The service

Cory is a humanoid robot for commercial spaces, backed by a software platform. The same Cory can greet and help your customers in person, answer your phone, respond to your texts, help on your website, and assist your staff. Robot units are offered on a Robot-as-a-Service basis, which means the hardware is provided as part of an ongoing subscription rather than sold outright. We may add, change, or improve features over time.

03 Accounts and eligibility

You must provide accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login details secure. You must be able to form a binding contract to use the service. Let us know promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

04 Subscriptions, billing, and payment

05 Term, cancellation, and renewal

Your subscription continues for the term you agreed to and renews automatically unless you cancel. You may cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will keep access through the period you have already paid for. Fees already paid are not refunded except where required by law or as otherwise agreed in writing. If a Cory robot unit was provided as part of your subscription, you agree to make it available for return or pickup after your subscription ends.

06 Acceptable use

You agree to use Cory lawfully and reasonably. You agree not to:

07 Robot hardware

Where a Cory robot unit is provided as part of your subscription, the unit remains the property of Cory the Company Inc. unless we agree otherwise in writing. You agree to keep it in a safe environment, use it as intended and as guided by us, and give us reasonable access to install, service, update, or retrieve it. Ordinary wear from normal use is expected; you agree to tell us promptly about loss or damage beyond that.

08 Your data and privacy

How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short, we collect only what we need, on-site robots do not retain audio or camera data, and we protect what we hold. You keep your own rights in the content and data you provide, and you grant us the permission needed to run the service for you.

09 Intellectual property

Cory, including its software, hardware design, branding, and content, belongs to Cory the Company Inc. and its licensors. These terms do not transfer any ownership to you. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service during your subscription, for your own business purposes, in line with these terms.

10 Third-party services

The service relies on trusted providers, including Stripe for payments, ElevenLabs for the web assistant, and Twilio for phone and text. Your use of the service may be subject to those providers' own terms. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third parties beyond our reasonable control.

11 Warranties and disclaimers

We work hard to make Cory reliable and helpful, and we will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Even so, the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not make guarantees that the service will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for a particular purpose, and we disclaim implied warranties to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

12 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service in any twelve month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in that period. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law.

13 Indemnity

You agree to cover reasonable losses we suffer that arise from your misuse of the service, your breach of these terms, or your violation of the law or the rights of others. We will tell you promptly of any such claim and let you take part in the defense.

14 Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end the service if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, if payment is not made, or if we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will give you notice and a chance to fix the problem first. You may stop using the service and cancel at any time as described above. Terms that by their nature should survive, such as those on payment owed, intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability, will continue after the service ends.

15 Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves or as the law changes. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will take reasonable steps to notify customers. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, that means you accept the updated terms.

16 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict of law rules. You and Cory the Company Inc. agree to the courts located in Ontario, Canada for any dispute that is not resolved informally, subject to any rights you have under applicable law.
