Cory the Company Inc. builds Cory, a humanoid robot and the software platform that runs it across the web, phone, and text. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep the list short on purpose, because we collect only what we need to serve you.
01 Who we are
Cory the Company Inc. ("Cory", "we", "us") is a company based in Alton, Ontario, Canada. We are the party responsible for the information described in this policy. You can reach us any time at [email protected].
02 Information we collect
Contact details
When you email us, call or text us, or fill in a form to get started, we collect the details you choose to share, such as your name, email address, and phone number, along with anything you write in your message.
Purchase and billing details
When you subscribe, payment is handled by Stripe through Stripe Checkout. During checkout, Stripe collects your name, company, email, phone number, and billing address, and processes your card. We receive a record of the purchase and the contact and billing details needed to set up and support your account. We never see or store your full card number; that stays with Stripe.
Cory web assist conversations
The Cory assistant on our website is a voice and chat experience. When you talk or type to it, the content of that conversation is processed so Cory can understand you and reply. Our web assistant runs on ElevenLabs, which handles the speech and language processing on our behalf.
Phone and text conversations
When you call or text a Cory phone number, the call and message are carried by Twilio so Cory can answer. The content of the conversation is processed to respond to you.
On-site robot and humanoid deployments
Cory units deployed on a customer site run on premise. They do not retain audio recordings or camera frames. Audio and video are processed in the moment to let Cory see and hear what is in front of it, and are not written to storage or kept afterward. This is zero data retention for audio and camera by design.
We do not use advertising trackers or sell personal information. Our marketing site does not set cross-site advertising cookies.
03 How we use your information
- To respond to your questions and provide the service you asked for.
- To set up, run, bill, and support your subscription.
- To let Cory understand and reply to you across web, phone, and text.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and meet our legal obligations.
- To improve how Cory works, using the minimum information needed and, wherever possible, information that does not identify you.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content of your conversations to advertise to you.
04 Service providers we rely on
We share information with a small set of trusted providers only to the extent needed to run the service. Each acts on our instructions and is bound to protect your information.
Each provider keeps its own privacy practices. We choose providers that take security seriously, and we share only what each one needs.
05 How long we keep information
We keep contact and account information for as long as you are a customer and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, tax, and record keeping needs. Billing records are kept as required by law. Audio and camera data from on-site robots is not retained at all. If you ask us to delete information we hold about you, we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
06 How we protect your information
- On-premise deployment. Cory units run on your own site, so the core of the system stays within your walls rather than in a shared cloud.
- Post-quantum encryption. Traffic between Cory components is protected with post-quantum encryption, built to hold up against future advances in computing.
- Tamper-evident audit trail. System actions are recorded in an audit trail designed so that changes to the record can be detected.
- Zero retention of audio and camera. On-site audio and camera data is processed in the moment and never stored.
No system can promise perfect security, but we design Cory to minimize what is collected and to protect what is.
07 Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, including Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, you may:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Ask us to delete information we are not required to keep.
- Withdraw consent for a use of your information, where consent is the basis for it.
To make a request, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to confirm your identity first.
08 Children
Cory is built for businesses and their customers. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
09 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our service grows or as the law changes. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to let affected customers know.
